It’s important know who the family of the enslaver is so that you can track the gifting of the slaves especially to the women and children of the enslaver. Sort this list by the FamGroup_ID (FGID) or the Last Name. Women may have more than on FGID because they may have married more than once.
SM_ID – The ID assigned to the Slave Master / Enslaver
FAMID – The ID assigned to the Family Group surname
TreeID – The ID assigned to the Individual Family to link and associate them
NOTE: The best approach when searching for information on the website is to either search by the FAMID or the Slave Master’s last name.
If you use the FAMID, you will see all of the FAMID’s associated with the women who received slaves.
